If you fail to take the time to write your goals like keys without a keychain, unwritten goals always end up being lost.

Written goals are powerful and almost always end up in success and achievement. You will achieve far greater and more consistent results when you take the time to put your goals down on paper.

When you write your goals it give you the chance to see and evaluate your goals so you can develop plans to achieve them. If you fail to write them down then they are only in your mind, and failure to act on them becomes the issue. If they goals are not in front of us on paper then they are just dreams, it is much easier to act on something if it is written down "kind of like a honey do list."

When you write them down you will remember what it is that is important to you, have you ever heard of something called "out of sight - out of mind?" We are human and if you have ever experienced this you know what I am talking about. You go school shopping with the kids you both sit down and make out a list of what you are going to get so you can stick to your budget. As you walk out the door, you end up forgetting the list and you end up getting all kinds of things that were not even on the list.

When you write out your goals they work the same way, they tend to stay in your memory if you can keep them in front of you. If you do not write them down, you will forget them.

Another powerful reason for writing them down, is you will have something to aim for and get to watch the accomplishments as you begin achieving them one by one. It is very powerful to watch yourself reach one goal, and then move on to the next one, because it will give you the motivation and persistence to keep setting goals and will boost your self confidence.

When you write your goals it keeps you on focus towards what you want. It is kind of like making a promise to yourself of what you want to be do have. Most people will strive to keep their promises; and make them become a reality. However when you write your goals the more specific you can be the better it is.

For example the lake house I have written down is brick or stone, it has 5 bedrooms with 3 baths. hickory hardwood floors and is open spaced throughout the house. when you walk in the front door you can look out and see the lake through the french doors. The property the house sits on is 5 acres, and there is a four car garage.

I hope this helps you out a little; as you can see it is in detail of course I can get into more detail about the house but this is just an example. Of course as you write your goals will come up with more details of what you desire. One of the things I have used to keep my goals in front of me at all times, is to put them on my computer for me to see them everyday as I get online.

When you take the time to write your goals you will realize the power the ink to the paper has on your thoughts. Yes we require a map and all your goals written out in front of you is that map. So take the time now and write your goals, then have a little fun and go out and find pictures of what you desire and make a vision board to help you along the way.

If you take the time to do all this there is no reason why you can not have what you desire. Just remember to have patience, good things come to those who wait, have faith and you will achieve what you desire.

The man who has no imagination has no wings. - Mahummad Ali

The next step of why you want to write your goals is because after they are written down and you realize what is important to you, is because you have to start dreaming again, no not like the dreams you have at night when you are asleep. You will begin dreaming again like you when you were a kid "I want to live in my lake house when I grow up." Do not be afraid to dream big, because the more specific you can get in your dreams and hear and feel sounds along with emotions chances are you will end up with your goal in your hand.

This has been a huge thing for me because I can continue to write more goals and get more pictures of what I desire.
