What Is Faith
What is faith: unflagging trust; belief without firm proof; belief in a supreme being; a religion; fidelity
Faith is a broad word when we consider that everyone is motivated by one thing or another. We all put our trust in something that offers a particular outcome in something that we desire. We all look forward to that outcome and strive to conform our life to the pattern that will best achieve that goal.
So how is it that as children we have faith; we have faith that our parents will take care of us, we believe that our peers will show us the correct way to be.
So what is faith; and how do we lose it when we become adolescents we quit believing in the unseen.
We as adults believe that when we set out to achieve something we actually have to do it. We let out ego get in the way and attempt to take full control of everything. Having faith is letting go of attachment of whatever it is you desire lose weight, run a business, or whatever else you may desire.
What is faith is believing whatever it is you desire is yours. Whenever you decide to follow something you desire let go of your ego; we are our worst own enemy. Whenever we do not accomplish what we set out to do most likely it is because we let our own ego get in the way.
There is a great mormon saying about what is faith:
"There is a law; irrevoocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world upon which all blessings are predicated.
And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated."
- D & C 130:20-21
Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.
-Norman Vincent Peale
How do we now apply it into our everyday lives? It is the ability to see the invisible and believe in the incredible and that is what enables believers to receive what the masses think is impossible.
We were created to achieve extraordinary things in our life; and when you believe that and learn what faith is the next step is to let go of your ego after all it will hold you back.
