)
It is a proven fact on how to set goals you actually achieve, if you take the time to write them down it becomes more real. So you probably are wondering "how do I write my them down?" Well here are some tips on goal setting and how to set goals you actually achieve.
1) Set Realistic Goals: Make sure that you do not short change yourself, but do not overshoot. If you currently are making $60,000 a year at a job, your goal might be to become a millionaire. Chances are you will not do that in a year.
2) Read Them Daily: Every morning when you wake up take several minutes to look over what you have written down and see the goal as already achieved.
this step is one of the most important steps on how to set goals you actually achieve. (yes I know you have not yet reached your goal physically.)
However if you do this every morning and every night before you go to sleep you can trick your subconscious mind into believing that you already have the things you desire. Take for example: you desire a new car say a Lexus SC convertible: you visualize the car down the the exact color you desire. You can see yourself sitting in the drivers seat, and you can even smell the leather and hear the roar of the engine. If you do that on a daily basis and feel the excitement of actually now owning the car, you will see your goal eventually become a reality.
3) Be Specific: You can not just say "I want a new house" Your subconsious mind is your road map and will help you reach your destination but like a GPS system you have to put in the correct directions. If you desire a new house you have to know that the house you desire is a 4000 sq. ft home, it is a lake
front property, it is made of stone, the floors are a hickory hardwood, and the kitchen counter tops are made of granite, it has a personal library, the meditation room stands alone in the house and has a beautiful view of trees and the lake. Those are some examples.
4) Set Non Contradictory Goals: If your goal is to make $65,000 a year, then you will not be able to purchase a million dollar lake front property. This is called non-integrated thinking, and this will surely sabotage everything you strive for especially your thinking.
5) Think about your goals in a positive way: When you write them down your mind will start playing games with you and begin telling you "there is no way that you will ever accomplish what you desire.
